A woman employee working at remote drilling platform contacted the doctor with repeated asthmatic status. Unfortunately, there was no possibility to evacuate her immediately due to poor weather conditions.
For several days the woman has been under the 24/7 care of our doctor, who managed to assist despite the limited set of means at remote site.
Proper diagnostics was a key success factor there. The clinical picture allowed to suspect an initial lung disease, but the doctor’s experience told it was the exacerbation of asthma (further medical examinations confirmed the diagnosis). The patient worked in laundry room and had an allergy to the cold and some household chemicals.
When the weather permitted, the woman has been evacuated from the platform to regional hospital. We are proud of highly-qualified specialists working for Profmedassist and we are grateful to them for dedicated work even in harsh conditions.
